Todd Whitten, Department Chair

Biography:  Mr. Whitten began teaching in 1995, and began teaching at BHS in 2008. He has been the Department Chair since 2011.

High School:  Oyster River High School, Durham, NH

Undergraduate Degree: BA, International Relations, Connecticut College, New London, CT

Graduate Degree: MA, Political Science, Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA

Mr. Whitten teaches US History II and the senior electives Advanced Seminar in Social Studies, US Government and Modern America:

US History II is a survey course that covers the history of the United States from 1900 through the present day.

Modern America is a senior elective that examines the intersection of historical events and popular culture from 1970 to now.

Advanced Seminar is a student-designed and student-led seminar course that focuses on works of non-fiction that pertain to the Social Sciences.

US Government is a Dual Enrollment course (in conjunction with Middlesex Community College, at which Mr. Whitten is an adjunct professor) that presents an overview of the form and function of the government of the United States of America.
